How do i become a foreign exchange student?

im 14 years old and i live in greece but i can speak fluent english and fluent swedish. i would really love to move to america to become a foreign exchange student. i had a friend who lived with me here in greece. he was about as smart as me. now after only one year he is so much more smarter than he was before. is there anyway for me to become a foreign exchange student? How do i become a foreign exchange student?Hi,

Now is a great time to begin thinking about this. The minimum age to come to the US is 15.

The top three programs are AFS, YFU and Rotary. I wouldn't advise trying the others. By all means, stay away from Two Worlds United, which is little more than a scam.

The program will help you with all you need -- finding a host family, school, travel, insurance, orientations and representatives in the US.How do i become a foreign exchange student?First of all, you have to find a company to do your foreign exchange with. I have heard some very good stuff about YFU, and one of my friends went through YFU and found it a very rewarding experience. They help you take care of all the rest, I think, and you need to make sure that you have a passport and visa to live in America. I am Dutch and my family still has a hard time with the immigration thing in America even after almost 9 years of living here, but I think that they're more lenient with younger people who don't stay too long. To get more information, ask one of the Alumni with the group/company you've chosen. I bet they can tell you a lot more than I can.
