How do I get the use of an exchange server without buying one?

My boss needs the use of an exchange server so he can wirelessly sync his phone/contacts/calendar to my computer. He thinks there's an exchange server through Outlook somehow. I think he's stupid. But there has to be a way to get the use of an exchange server without spending a ton of money. Any suggestions?
