How to convince parents to allow me to be exchange student?

I've been thinking about trying to become an exchange student my Junior year of high school for 1 year in either Argentina, Chile, or Ecuador.

I would really like to do this, but I have no idea of how to go about asking my parents.

I of course will get a job and fund raise like crazy to help pay for it.

How should I go about talking to them about it?How to convince parents to allow me to be exchange student?Gather all the information you need. You should have all the information from the exchange group you're using. Supervisor names and numbers, etc. Parents will want to know that other children have survived this experience unharmed. They want to know there is reliable adult supervision at all times.

Where are you going to live? - Be as specific as you can. The family's name and telephone number would be great.

How long are you going to be gone? Self-explaintory.

What if you hate it? What if the family you stay with is horrible? What if you get there and it's a complete nightmare? Have an exit plan ready for them to see.

How much does it cost and what are the parental obligations?

When you lay out all the info, ask if they have questions. Address them calmly and without tantruming.

If they say no, ask why.

Keep working on it.How to convince parents to allow me to be exchange student?Be up-front about it. Do a little research to get a realistic idea of the cost and come up with a %26quot;business plan%26quot; to raise the funds. Doing this would not only help offset the cost, but also show your parents you are mature enough to handle the exchange. How to convince parents to allow me to be exchange student?show that you are responsible. Be prepared to explain why are responsible enough to handle something like that. Also, educate your parents on the place that you would like to go. Be detailed. I have no doubt that you will be able to persuade them as long as you can be ready to answer any questions they may ask.How to convince parents to allow me to be exchange student?Well first of all you need to get them believe that you can take care of yourself.

Explain them that this will be a once in a lifetime opportunity, that it won't be the same doing it during college. And it'll make you gain more independence,How to convince parents to allow me to be exchange student?A friend of ours sent her daughter to Germany for her junior year. Mom herself did the same thing when she was a kid so that made it easier. You might want to find a family who has done this and you and your parents could talk to them.
