How to be a foreign exchange student for the summer?

How can i be a foreign exchange student for a summer? I don't really want to be a student there just go for a summer. I want to go somewhere like england, ireland, germany, italy, places like that. ANy help? How to be a foreign exchange student for the summer?1. First find out if any town or city in your area has a sister city agreement. If they do they often have great summer exchanges that are often very cheap comparatively.

You can find a sister city near you here: http://www.sister-cities.org/directory/index.cfm

Also, look at this: http://www.sister-cities.org/programs/homestay.cfm

2. Look at organizations such as YFU, AFS, ASSE,etc. They all have summer exchange programs.

3. If you belong to the rotary club I believe there are many exchange opportunities. Also, their is People to People but you have to receive an invite.

I suggest you start looking them up (type in foreign exchange summer program) right away, as from my experience the application process can be long and it's best to start preparing as soon as possible anyways. Many programs will teach you the language before you go, but it's nice to already have learned a bit. Foreign exchange sounds so exciting, but I have yet to convince my parents to let me go! Good luck :)
